Harrison's 1st Birthday

Yesterday was Harrison's first birthday and we had a great time! We had both families over for delicious Papa Murphy's pizza, cake, and chocolate ice cream. I felt a little bit bad because Baylor's first birthday party was very low-key (as I was in the middle of graduate school and thesis writing), but we all had a great time anyway. He got lots of clothes that were badly needed as well as a McQueen bubble gun from Amelia (that Baylor quickly confiscated for himself), a soft puppy house from G'ma Candis and Papa Doug, a play horse, army men, and a plastic safari hat from Grandma Carol, and a Brother Bear/Brother Bear 2 DVD from the James'. Little Baby Girl!

Alex and I had the ultrasound appointment on Friday and the baby is a GIRL!!! We got to see her squirming around and they made sure she was growing as she should be. She was a little camera shy so we didn't get a picture of her face this time. We are both excited to be the parents of a cute little baby girl!

Back in Sept. Tobin ran the Colonial 200, which means a crazy group of 12 guys, 6 in each van, ran from Charlottesville to Jamestown. Each guy ran somewhere between 12-22 miles divided up into 3 legs. It is very hilly, so much harder than running out here in Norfolk.  Tobin ran a 3.7(8 am) uphill run, a 5.6 mile run(6pm), and a 8 mile(about 4 in the morning) run

They run 24 hours straight. Tobins' team did it in about 35 hours. The winning ultra team (meaning 6 runners, not 12) ran it in 22 hours. Tobins's team is called The Fighting Tortugas.   

The Tortuga Van #1 with the oldest runner (turned 70 the first day of the race), and the youngest runner 22-who kept a sub 7 minute mile.

Waiting for Bill to come in so Jason (in the running vest), could start his leg.  The guy in the hat is Jasons' dad, who drove the van for 33 hours straight. The van stays within 1 mile of the runner at all times. (sometimes they get lost, especially at night).

The ladies waiting to cheer on Daddy as he runs by. We watched him run the first leg....and drove along side him and yelled at him....then we met up with his van for lunch while van 2 was running their legs. What a bunch of really smelly guys!!!

FYI....races that one or both of us are running, if you want to come and cheer us on. Feb-Myrtle beach marathon and 1/2 marathon, Apr-Palmetto 200 from Columbia SC to Charleston, SC, June-Toronto 200-running around Lake Ontario.

Goodness! Many many many thanks to Shareesa for patiently and sweetly waiting FIVE MONTHS for her birthday spotlight.
