Graduation

Here are some graduation pictures from last Saturday. I graduated with my Bachelor's of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies: Nutrition and Human Development. Graduation was nice but I didn't totally feel the relief of being done with school- probably because I got accepted into graduate school! I will be getting my Master's degree in Family and Human Development and I would like to be a lecturer at a university or something along those lines where I would have the freedom to work part-time if I liked to. Also, I've heard grad school is much better than getting your undergraduate degree since the professors treat you better- sad but true! I'm really excited to begin learning some awesome things to help me be a better mother-so here comes two more years of college!

My friend said we got a good 2-1 deal since Baylor graduated, too ;) so here's a picture of Chace loving our baby at graduation. He's going to be such a good daddy!

First of all, last weekend, our friends took a trip to the Malt Shop. It was pretty good food. Then, after heart attacking my friend Carly, retaliation was in order. So, I decided I'm going to graduate school! Chace and I will both graduate with our Master's degrees in May 2011. I'm doing the distance education option through Utah State University at Brigham City (because then I don't have to write a 65 page thesis paper!) and it's just a two year program- not too bad :D I'm excited, though and we had to get a student loan for Chace anyway, so why not get a couple thousand more for me? So that's our new development to share!

This is my Chace with his Bear Lake sunburn at Mission Beach in CA- now Utah and California are connected! haha. He put his sunscreen on really funny and this is what you get! Here is Mr. Potato head in California adventure just before we went on Midway mania it is a fun interactive game where you attempt to get points by shooting darts at baloons, shooting rings around spacemen, throwing pies at a target, and other assorted fun stuff. And of course one of the most fun rides in California adventures the hollywood tower of terror and this is the tower right here in this picture. Jalena is not too much of a fan because the last time she went on the ride an earthquake shook the tower building it was pretty scary. And the best picture is of my wiffy and she has the prettiest hat now that fits really well and keeps the sun out of her eyes but doesn't hide her face at all it is great and she looks ready for her day in disneyland.

Ultrasaur Lagoon

Here we are at Ultrasaur Lagoon on the Jurassic park ride at Universal Studios! We got headed out of the condo about 9:30 when we were supposed to leave @7 am, then we hit traffic and the 2 hr drive turned into a 3.5 hr drive, THEN our tickets said we had to go to the annual pass line to get "registered" or something so Chace, Shareesa, and Tom waited in a line for 45 min while everyone else went inside. Annoying!Once we made it in though it was very fun.

This is a pic of the most incredibly hot Kung Pao Chicken I have EVER had! I kept thinking 'wow this is burning my mouth!' and then my mouth went up in flames and I found half of a red, cooked pepper in my mouth with only half of the seeds left. Anyhoo, i still don't have too many taste buds left! It was tasty while I could still taste it!

Here is a video of Wisteria Lane of Desperate Housewives. They were actually filming when we went through so we had to stay quiet. Savannah said she saw the actor who plays Evie Britt (sp?) but I'm not sure it was her. Who knows I guess! We're headed to Mission Beach today so we'll post more tonight hopefully. It's so good to spend time with family!

My mom's cousins won this contest put on by Brad Paisley and ended up winning which meant they got a trip to any concert in the U.S. all expenses paid and they played this music video in the background at the concert while Brad Paisley sang the song. Before July is over, I need to send a very belated birthday blog post to Shareesa (July 6) and Mom (July 16)!

Mom was sweet enough to invite us all to a birthday dinner, even after she worked a long day in L&D. What a woman! Dad made some lemon pepper chicken (with a secret ingredient of course)that tasted divine and Angie (with Julia's help I hear) made a delicious birthday cake. We sure love you Mom!! I hope you had a happy birthday. Thank you so much for all you do for us!

I totally missed Shareesa's actual birthday (I'm SO LAME), so we celebrated the special occasion on July 24th at our house. Chace, Shareesa, and Paige came to visit us and while Aunt P watched Maddie, (for almost 2 whole days!) we went to the Rio Tinto stadium and watched an RSL game and fireworks afterwards. Thanks so much for a really fun Pioneer Day! Shareesa, thanks for being such a fun, positive, and cute member of the family!

Pregnancy

Well I went into the doctor yesterday to get another biphysical profile. Emma passed again with flying colors! It took about 5 minutes to do the whole thing. She is also measuring a week ahead of schedule, so I may have only 6 weeks left.
We also had a party for Julia on Monday. We had cupcakes and ice cream and Julia was so cute. SHe kept telling people she was 3 1/2. She made a lot of dough for her birthday so we decided to let her spent half and put the other half in savings. SHe got 3 tinker bell fairies with her birthday money. She has been very possisve of her birthday ballons. We sure do enjoy her! She also insists on being a big girl and walking everywhere! What a relief for me since I am getting bigger!!

8 Weeks

Well to all our family we went to the doctor on the 28th and all is looking well. We had a Biphysical profile done, which is and ultrasound to measure diffrent things of the baby. The measure the amnotic fluid, baby's heart beat, the practice breathing movements and the movements of the baby. Well little Emma passed with and 8 out of 8. WHat a relief!!. The doctor wants to see me every week now and my next two appointments will have a biphysical profile. We also talked about getting induce and the doctor said at a medical stand point he would like to do it at 38 weeks. So that gives us 8 more weeks to get ready! I really hope that the time flies!!!

Last night as we were saying our prayers Julia wanted to say it. Although Julia can say the prayer by all herself she asks for help and of course mommy was her choice to help. As I was helping her I said "please bless that no harm or accident will come upon us" she said "please bless that no harm or pocahontas". It took me just a minute to gain my composure to help her finish. It was quite funny to hear her say that. Where she came up with that is still a mystery. Hope all is well with everyone!

Pregnancy

Well this is just to inform everyone that our little baby is doing great. The baby has a good strong heartbeat and is growing right on schedule! What a relief!! We find out what we are having in 9 weeks! WOW! Didn't think it would be that soon. Julia is doing great and is excited to be having a baby brother or sister. We are attempting to get her potty trained. SHe is doing okay with it. She loves sitting on her potty chair and make it sing! Well I hope all is going well with everyone!

Hallie cut up paper today and left a mess everywhere. I told her to pick up her mess and she got all the big pieces and then came over and said "Mom, I just can't get all those bit-lets!!!!" Jan and Christian will understand the bit-lets!!! She has used the bit-lets many times in the past few days.

Christian & I had SO MUCH FUN visiting Tobin, Alison, & Hallie in Norfolk! Here are some of the highlights:

"Uncle CCHHRRIISSTTIIAANN...WAKE UP!" (Even if he was awake and alert!)

"Crepe Myrtles!" (Trees...not delicious thin pastries filled with sauce named after aunt Myrtle)

The 'Tans' (The place where Jan will spend her retirement years)

"AUNT BOOOOOZER" (I'm not sure if it's a good idea for my nick-name to suggest I am a drunk)

"Why is EVERYTHING DEAD here?" (Hallie's frequent question while visiting monuments of dead presidents, dinosaur fossils at the Museum of Natural History, and Arlington Cemetery. The poor girl didn't understand why everything we saw wasn't living anymore!)

Thanks so much for the fun memories and relaxing vacation! We loved spending time with you and hope to visit again very soon!

So here it is. The time has come to take the braces off. Here is the before and after photos. I got permanant retainers too, but they are hardly noticable and are only small wires on the backs of my first couple teeth. I like my teeth a lot!

Vacation fun

Well here we are in July! Where does the time go. As many of the fam knows we all went on vacation to Bear Lake. And a much needed one for Kyle as he had worked for 40 something days straight. He had much fun and taught me how to golf. It was quite fun to go golfing with him and it is the most he has been golfing since we have been married. Many thanks to mom and dad for paying for a couple of those rounds! Julia had lots of fun as well. At first she did not like the big pool and spent much time in the kiddie pool, but by the end she was brave enough to go into the big pool with everyone else. She has lots of fun with Aunt Boozer and Aunt Biggins down at the beach where the made a sand castle. Of course every night who can forget the long hours of watching Peter Pan at 3 in the morning. No sleep for Julia or her mother! But we did have a great time. And who can forget the playground! Making Mom AND Grandma go down the slide before she would try it!

Life in the Big City

Well here it is June. Where does the time go!? Well we made it through Memorial Day this year. WHat a relief! Abby's grave was decorated just right. We had tulips and two small flower baskets. Kyle has had to work for 28 days straight, so yes he had to work on Memorial Day. We are hoping he gets off this Sunday. We are really looking forward to Bear Lake. A much needed vacation for Kyle! Julia is keeping me busy this summer. She is a talker and loves to chat my ear off. I am so grateful we have her to keep me company. As many of you know I am the YW camp director and that has kept me busy. I am excited for camp. We have a lot of great YW! It is Stake camp this year so I don't have to much, but they have lots of fun things planned!! Julia got the chocolate out and lined it all up in a row. She likes things in order whcih is good. It helps me a lot. So I thought i would send these pictures

Hey, I haven't posted for a while. Last night Julia was over. We took a couple pictures. She really liked this flower. I just finished my junior year of high school and am very excited for summer vacation. This means, I'm a senior marcher! Thanks for everything.

A Job At Last

Tobin started his new job at the GAO on Tuesday. He seems to like it, although it has mostly been paper work and learning new things. I think one of the hardest things for him to do was to find clothes that are appropriate for work. We have been shopping over the past week or two and it has been a very new thing for us to find "business casual", but not too casual clothes. I must admit though, he looks very nice and very grown up in them. (that was a nice way of saying old) =).Guess we both need to update our look from 25 to 30 year olds. YIKES!!!! More updates to come on his job later.
